!!!!!! If you are in or going to be in Seattle on July 12 DO NOT MISS the Little U-Men show on Saturday, July 12 at Fantagraphics in Georgetown - show starts at 5:00!!!!!!
We're honored to offer your exclusive (but unofficial) U-Men band merch here!
Before Sub Pop was a household name and long before grunge exploded onto the global stage, there was this band who cracked open the door for the Seattle sound that would soon shake the world.
Formed in 1980 in Seattle and around until 1989, the U-Men were a volatile cocktail of swampy riffs, deranged howls, and a primal energy that turned every stage into a fire hazard. Tom Price, Charlie Ryan, Robbie, and John Bigley - Robbie left and Jim Tillman joined the band - built something messy, brilliant, and completely unforgettable. The band left a trail of records scattered across labels like Homestead, Sub Pop, Amphetamine Reptile, and C/Z, while they carved out a corner of rock history that still refuses to be painted over.
And now — finally — the merch arrives.
We’ve teamed up with band members Jim Tillman and Tom Price to create something that never got made back in the day but should have. Pulling from original artwork and channeling the raw aesthetic of their heyday, this unofficial-but-authentic collection of tees, hoodies, and hats is as close as you’ll get to snagging swag from a show at Oddfellows Hall.
We worked with band members Jim Tillman and Tom Price to come up with a design that is true to the style of the time. Repurposing elements from original album artwork, we believe this design "could have" existed and been a part of the band's original touring merch. And each piece has the blessing of Jim and Tom.
So if you were there — or wish you had been — here’s your chance to rep a band that left an indelible scar on the underground. The U-Men helped make Seattle loud, weird, and worth remembering. Let’s keep it that way.
Get your hands on this limited merch drop while it lasts. Because legends like the U-Men don’t come around twice.
