About Us
We’re Tim and Jenni and we live just outside of Medellin, Colombia. We have been visiting Colombia since 2015 and living here full-time since 2020. Before moving to Colombia we lived in Panama for over 5 years where we opened and operated a tourism business. But in 2019 Tim was diagnosed with a rare lymphoma and we ultimately decided to move to Colombia for its superior healthcare as well as it being absolutely beautiful and Colombianos being some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet.
Why Paper Kite Design? Well it's kind of a mash up. First of all there is a spectacular butterfly called the paper kite and secondly kites (many made of paper) are super popular in Colombia where Jenni and I live. Here they are called cometas (like comets ☄) and people fly them everywhere. Tim used to look out of his 12th floor hospital window while receiving treatment for his lymphoma and see them all over the city of Medellin and it made him happy.
Paper Kite Design is about tasteful designs of things that make you smile - your pets, your hobbies, great music. There are tons of tshirts out there but so much duplication in the designs, trend chasing, and the quality is inconsistent. With Tim’s graphic design skills and Jenni’s background in organization and customer service, we felt we could offer people high-quality shirts with designs that were original and unique with top-notch service. Not the same ol’ same ol’.
Of course we put some of our designs on other products like coffee (okay, tea if you must) mugs, phone cases, tumblers, and totes. So if you see a design you would like on another product and it’s not in the catalog please drop us a message and we will make it happen!
Our other partner is Becky Craig, VP of quality control. Becky lives in Cape Canaveral, Florida and has years of experience in the apparel industry. She’s mostly retired but keeps an eye on our products to ensure they are up to our quality standards. Some of us also call her Mom.
Quality
We want you to have a beautiful, high-quality shirt. While you probably can’t see it on your end, a lot of online shirt companies contract with multiple different vendors to focus on the lowest price. We do care about keeping our prices low and negotiating the best deals, but we also want to maintain print quality, shirt quality, shipping and delivery times, and customer service. We want you to love your product and if it doesn’t meet your expectations contact us immediately and so we can fix it! And it sure would help us understand how best to help if you take photos or videos of issues and send them to us at info@paperkitegraphicdesign.com
